Save The Family, Celynnen Photography’s chosen Charity for 2010

People who know me are aware that I have always had a great interest in children welfare, supporting them through sport, education and social opportunities with Riverside Organic. Recently, through a fundraising event held by Visit Chester and Cheshire at Eaton Hall I was introduced to Save The Family, a charity dedicated in providing sheltered accommodations for Homeless families. Upon visiting Plas Bellin Hall, where the families live, it was obvious to me that what Save the Family does is much more than provide shelter.

We all know the family is the cornerstone of society and Save the family helps homeless families by providing them shelter and life skills so that hopefully, the families never find themselves in that situation again.

But at the centre of the family are young children who will not only benefit from STF’s support, but will then be able to bring  those new skills to a family of their own in the future, which is why STF’s work is so important and it’s impact on society so far reaching. Helping families, helping individuals, helping Britain.

Celynnen Photography will be donating time and raising funds for Save the Family this year and we hope you can too by donating funds when you buy some of our photographic services or directly to Save the Family

Wishing you and your family a very happy, loving 2010

Ioan

About Save the Family

Save the Family is a local charity providing sheltered accommodation for Homeless Families in North Wales, Cheshire, The Wirral and Merseyside.

Without Save the Family, the only alternative for these Families would be for their Children to be taken into care, as the state has a duty of care to all Children in the UK. Families are the incubators that both parents and children need. The power of Family love gives strength, and without that strength it is hard for Children to grow into rounded adults. We know from experience that when Children are taken in to care the Family is weakened and destroyed and the detrimental impact on the child can be long lasting, socially, educationally and psychologically.

Every night, 150 people depend on Save the Family for a roof over their heads. Those helped by the charity come from the poorest 10% of neighborhoods in the UK; estates with endemic unemployment, domestic violence, drug or alcohol abuse, poor health, unsuitable housing conditions, high levels of debt and low educational attainment. Save the Family works to restore self-respect and teach basic life skills, while addressing the root causes of repeat Homelessness.  Its goal is to give Parents back their hope and give their Children a future.

Save the Family works tirelessly 365 days a year and 24 hours a day. To keep the charity running it cost a massive £1.2 million pounds annually. We rely heavily on the generosity of the Great British Public to help us continue our vital work in keeping Families together

We receive more than 400 referrals every year.  We can only help 12% of these Families in crisis.  We need to do more, we want to do more. You can help us continue the vital work we do in keeping Homeless Families together and make a difference.

Emily and Stu in York. Getting ready for their big day!

Wedding photography if fab! I LOVE it! But one thing which is really cool about doing wedding photography is the pre-wedding photography shoot! These are usually done at a place which is important to the couple and in this case, it was done in York! Other places we’ve worked were Portstewart in Northern Ireland, Eastham Country Park on the Wirral, Talacre Beach in North Wales and the Lake District just to name a few!

We had a great time walking around York with Emily and Stu and we can’t wait for their wedding in Cheshire in September!

Upton-by-Chester High School, Sixth Form Prospectus

Recently, I was asked to work with Upton-By-Chester High School for their 6th Form Prospectus. It was an absolute blast! Always have a great time working with young people and I must say I found the whole place rather dynamic and fun! Then KM Creative of Chester did an amazing job in assembling the prospectus. It’s really impressive!

Here are a few pics we took on the day.

Family portraits in The Wirral..in the comfort of your own home!

When Christmas time comes, we often get requests for family portraits. Our canvases and custom frames make fantastic and appreciated gifts. But one of the concerns are wether the light will be good enough or if it’s too cold, etc.. The solution: have the shoot in your own home! No need to live in a mansion, most lounges will do! We will then use our portable background to give it that studio effect! No need to worry about plugs either because we use a fully wireless setup with Pocket Wizards (those things with antennas on the cameras you see on America’s Next Top Model!).

So give us a call and enjoy a fun portrait photography session in the comfort of your own home!

We do family portraits in Cheshire, all over North Wales, the Wirral, Manchester, Liverpool, Shropshire and further afield too! Just ask!

:)

Cheshire’s Talented Young Chefs

Celynnen Photography are proud sponsors of Cheshire’s Talented Young Chefs! CTYCs is an event held once a month at a different restaurant or venue within Cheshire and features a different cook every month from one of Cheshire’s most exciting young Chefs! The venues featured this year up till now were The Residence restaurant and bar in Nantwich, The Ring O’Bells and the Duke Of Portland. The season was launched at Nunsmere Hall Hotel which has one of Cheshire’s Masterchef competition finalists (2008). Considering the quality of food which was demonstrated up tillnow by all these establishments, I can’t wait till next month for the next event! Cheshire’s reputation as a foodie’s place is definitely safe thanks to all the young talented chefs we have and the restaurants, hotels and pubs in Cheshire that support them!

Matt and Nat’s wonderful wedding at Meifod Country House Hotel in Caernafon!

Firstly, I have to apologise for the delay since my last post! I’ve been so busy!! So if you don’t mind, I’ll have a few “backdated” posts..

To start with, Matt and Nat! We first met at the Meifod Country House Hotel in Caernafon over a year ago and things clicked instantly! We started with planning their pre-wedding shoot on Talacre Beach. We had a great time and it also allowed us to get to know each other better in a general way, which makes things so much better on the wedding day, but it also allowed us to see what worked best in terms of pictures!

Once that was done, Nathalie secretly planned for a gift Matt would remember for ever: A Bridal Boudoir Shoot! The shoot was at the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa. Nat came over with a friend and we had a great day shooting! It started with our makeup artist doing Nat’s hair and makeup. This little touch gives the shoot a bit of a makeover/pampering day feel to it. Then, we produced some absolutely fantastic images for Nat and Matt to treasure for years to come in one of our exclusive leather and silk albums! This was given to Matt the day before the wedding and he was really pleased with his gift! :)

And finally, the big day came. We had such a great time at Meifod Country House Hotel and they really did up the room where the ceremony was held in such a beautiful way! It really helped with the pictures, though having such a great looking couple helps too, of course! :)

Wishing you both many, many happy years together and I hope we get to work together again soon!

Tuesday’s portrait photography in Wrexham and Llangollen

We love doing portrait photography in Wrexham as the varied landscape and beautiful villages give us really nice backdrops. Autumn is a wonderful time of year for outdoor portraits and it was a pleasure to spend a few hours out with Tuesday for her portrait session.

We loved the result and hope you do to!
